MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care is pleased to invite you to attend Understanding the Impact of Trauma on Holocaust Survivors Facing the End of Life — Examining the Past to Improve Present Care, a unique and powerful program for healthcare and community professionals about the impact of trauma on Holocaust survivors and the Second Generation.

This three-part virtual program will include a guided tour of the core exhibit at the Museum of Jewish Heritage — A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, by Dr. Paul Radensky, Senior Director for Education at the Museum; live Holocaust survivor testimony from Ms. Toby Levy, and a didactic session by Clinical Psychologist Irit Felsen, Ph.D., who will discuss the impact of trauma on Holocaust survivors, transmission of trauma to Second Generation survivors, and the prevention of retraumatization at the end of life through delivery of trauma-informed care. 

Up to 3.0 continuing education credit hours for nurses and social workers are available for those attending this live program. 

NURSES: The MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by The Alabama State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 

SOCIAL WORKERS: MJHS Institute for Innovation in Palliative Care is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0242.
